In the context of Ho Chi Minh City actively accelerating its goal to establish the Vietnam International Financial Centre, strengthening connections with experienced international partners such as France and Paris Europlace is considered a crucial step toward expanding cooperation, acquiring expertise, and promoting modern financial models.
On that basis, on the afternoon of May 28th, 2026, the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City hosted a welcoming session for Mr. Etienne Ranaivoson, Consul-General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Olivier Vigna, Managing Director of Paris Europlace, within the framework of a working session directed by the City People's Committee. The delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huan, Vice Chairman of the Executive Agency of VIFC-HCMC. This meeting between the representatives of Vietnam and France marks a step forward in strengthening connections, exchanging experiences, and expanding cooperation in the field of international finance.
Concurrently, the reception also provided an opportunity for both sides to deliberate on potential cooperative orientations, focusing on areas of mutual interest such as digital assets, fintech, stablecoins, cross-border payments, and the tokenization of real-world assets.
The prominent directions of cooperation include exchanging experiences on legal frameworks and risk management, researching EU–Vietnam payment models, connecting the fintech ecosystems of both countries, as well as developing real-world asset tokenization projects in the sectors of agricultural products, commodities, and supply chain finance.
This activity contributes to intensifying cooperation with French partners and enhancing the role of Ho Chi Minh City in the development process of the Vietnam International Financial Centre.
